Would you like to support children and young people in challenging life situations and can you imagine working in Portugal? At Caminho Novo there are many different ways to get involved. You can contribute to everyday care, family-based settings, projects or bring your own ideas.
Perhaps you already have experience as a foster or professional care family, or you would like to learn more about what this work can look like. In this role, you welcome a young person into your home and support them in your family’s everyday life.
Can you imagine supporting a young person intensively for a limited period? In our travel and assessment projects, the aim is to create a reliable framework during difficult life situations and work out together what should happen next. Projects last up to 90 days and take place on the Portuguese mainland.
In our small-group settings, you support young people through everyday life, help with school and daily tasks, and plan activities together. You work closely with your team and take responsibility.
Can you imagine supporting a young person at school or giving them an insight into working life? We also look for people and businesses that offer work placements or meaningful occupation. Places where young people can contribute practically, try things out and discover their own abilities are especially valuable.
Do you have your own idea, a particular offer or would you like to run a project with young people? We are open to new approaches and would be happy to explore together what might grow from them.
We are looking for educational professionals, such as youth workers or social pedagogues, as well as people without a pedagogical qualification. What is suitable depends on the role and your previous experience.
Reliability, responsibility and openness matter to us. Especially when things become difficult, we want to be transparent, remain in dialogue and consider together what the situation requires.
